Job Title: Pupil Support Worker (Maternity Cover)
Salary: £18,000 per annum
Location: Oakfield House School, Station Road, Salwick, Preston, PR40YH
Hours: Mon-Fri / 8:30am-4pm
Contract: Fixed Term / Term Time only
We are looking for a Pupil Support Worker to support young people at our independent special educational needs day school for 42 students aged 5-12. You will be part of a dedicated team helping to deliver a wide curriculum and help nurture a therapeutic environment to meet a range of needs including social, emotional, mental health, communication and learning difficulties.

About the role
The Pupil Support Worker supports individuals and small groups of pupils with their education and activities and assist their development as detailed on their pupil statements. You will be responsible in assisting the teachers and instructors in implementing individual educational and behavioural programmes.
The successful candidate will encourage the social, behavioural and emotional development of pupils through positive approaches that enhance appropriate relationships, develop self-esteem and promote life skills. You will be responsible for recording and tracking pupil information and assisting with classroom organisation and display work.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have experience of working with young people with a range of complex learning needs. You will be able to demonstrate a working understanding of how these needs impact upon learning and behaviour in the classroom. You may have knowledge and experience of working with autistic spectrum disorder or children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
