Job Title: School Cook
Salary: £17,250.29 per annum
Location: The Shires, Oakham
Hours: 40 per week, 8.30am - 4.30pm

We’re looking for a School Cook to join our team at The Shires based at Oakham. Someone who is clean, tidy and organised who has previous experience in a similar role with skills in cooking.
About the School
The Shires consists of three sites all within a 15 minute drive of one another. We have two Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools and 3 Residential homes. We help care for and support 33 young people aged 11-19 who have been diagnosed with Autism and may have accompanying learning disabilities, behavioural problems or medical conditions.

About the role
To perform a variety of tasks in all areas of the kitchen, including food prep as directed by the Cook/Manager. To also ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic. To ensure meals are served and produced to a good standard.
Cleaning all kitchen areas, equipment and fabric as required, and keeping the servery and dining areas clean, washing and sanitising tables and chairs
Recording and reporting any malfunction of equipment or fittings that require maintenance or cannot be kept to the required standard through normal cleaning procedures
Preparing and serving food/meals
Prepares the service and dining areas
Rotate food stock supplies as necessary
Ordering food stock
With reasonable notice, to work additional hours in cases of staff absence and/or heavy work loads i.e. preparing refreshments for functions/events.
