Be the teacher you always wanted to be!
The Grange Therapeutic School is an independent special school for young people aged 8 -18 years with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Our school is based in a Victorian country house in Leicestershire with stunning views and fantastic facilities to develop not only the educational, but also the social and emotional needs of our pupils. With access to woods and lakes on site, the school has an ethos about delivering a personalised curriculum tailored to, and driven by, the individuals.
We offer the chance to teach in an environment where the emphasis is on excellent classroom practice with groups of up to 6 pupils and relationships are the key to success. Therefore we need hardworking, child centred staff who are resilient and willing to go the extra mile. In return we offer significant investment in your professional development, a supportive staff group and opportunities for progression for ambitious staff. We are focused more on high quality classroom teaching and innovation and less on paperwork.
The successful candidate will deliver English across the upper school (KS3/4) and may be required to teach an additional subject depending on timetable, suitability and qualifications. They would also be expected to contribute to the wider school curriculum – for example offsite trips and outdoor education.
We want to hear from people with drive and a willingness to go the extra mile to improve the lives of the young people in our care. Strong inter-personal skills, team working and a sense of humour are also vital.
Visits to the school are encouraged. Please contact the school for further details and to make arrangements on 01664 454264.
The Grange Therapeutic School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening including checks with past employers, an Enhanced Disclosure via the DBS, the Employer Access online service and social media. Please be advised that references will be sought at the point of shortlisting.
