Location: Oak Tree School, Truro, Cornwall.
Salary: Up to £17,292 dependent on experience
Hours: 8.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
We’re looking for an Administration Assistant with finance responsibilities to join the Oak Tree School team. Someone who is highly organised and self-motivated would be perfect for this role.
About the School:
Oak Tree School is a specialist provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 65 children and young people aged 7 to 16 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These children and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.

About the Role:
Due to a recent internal promotion we are looking for an Administration Assistant with finance responsibilities to join the Oak Tree School team.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, resilient, flexible in their approach to work and able to work within a small team, but also independently. Responsibilities include processing invoices, raising orders, recording and monitoring all school credit card and petty cash spend.
Who we are looking for?
Applicants would benefit from experience working within a school/college environment but this is not essential as relevant training would be given to suitable candidates.
You will often find yourself wearing ‘many hats’ in this position, often multi-tasking between various means of communication and tasks.
- Good practical knowledge and experience of working in a office environment
- Practical experience of telephone network systems, word processing programmes and other related computer systems
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
