Job Title:        Outdoor Education Activity worker

Location:        Falkland House School, Falkland Estate, Falkland

Salary:            Up to £25,388 dependent on experience
 

Contract:        Permanent


Hours:             38 hours per week. Shift pattern of 7 days on, 7 days off

About the School

Falkland House School is an in independent residential school for boys from primary to aged 18 years.  Our pupils have a range of Additional Support Needs including emotional and behavioural difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.  We were the first independent school in Scotland (outside of the NAS) to receive accreditation from the National Autistic Society.

Within the school there is one team, encompassing Care and Education, which works tirelessly to achieve the best possible social and educational outcomes for our boys.

About the Role

This is very much a role in its infancy, with broad principles aimed at improving the social and emotional wellbeing of the boys through outdoor based activities. You will be working alongside an experienced and highly regarded member of staff, with the two of you collaborating with both the Head of Care and the Head of Education to shape the programme and drive forward initiatives.

The role will also involve work around behavioural support, P.E, and supporting the residential boys within the houses, promoting their social and emotional wellbeing and their independence.

 

Who we are looking for?

An individual who is enthusiastic about the benefits of outdoor education, who will be creative in its implementation and delivery. Ideally, candidates will have experience in delivering outdoor education and assisting boys with additional support needs. Candidates will have a nurturing, supportive approach to their work and will demonstrate positive unconditional regard towards the boys at all times. They should be calm under pressure, resilient and friendly. Knowledge of autism spectrum disorder is advantageous

Registration with the SSSC will be a requirement, with candidates being afforded time to complete requisite qualifications.
