Statement of Purpose
Acorn Care & Education is committed to providing high quality education and care for young people with special educational needs, where the qualities and needs of the individual are valued.
Our children and young people learn and achieve within safe, caring, and supportive communities, characterised by high expectations, quality teaching and the highest standards of care. We aim to meet each child's physical and emotional care needs and encourage a positive, healthy lifestyle.
The young people under the care of our fostering services are valued as individuals and we meet their needs through placements with experienced and trained carers who are suited to the young person's requirements.
The success of individuals is founded on our core values of respect, dignity, trust and well-being, a commitment to realising the potential of each child and young person through a broad and enriching curriculum, growing independence and widening the opportunities for continued learning and work.
The high quality of our provision thrives on the individual character of each school, the expertise of teachers, support staff and care providers and a commitment to the development and sharing of best practice through supportive and accountable networks. Our staff are passionate about supporting and nurturing young people and we are committed to providing stimulating environments where they can develop and practice their skills and expertise.
The value and effectiveness of Acorn Care & Education is demonstrated by the successful outcomes of the young people placed in our care. We develop and improve the quality of education, care and health by focusing on continuous improvement, quality assurance, external evaluation, the continual professional development of our staff and partnership working with local authorities and other agencies.
Acorn Care & Education strives towards achieving equality of opportunity in all of its service provision and employment practices. This is especially important for us given the discrimination and difficulties that the majority of the children, young people and their families will have experienced.
We aim to eliminate inadvertent and unlawful discrimination practices in order to enable all our young people and employees to have access to opportunities to realise their own potential. Our aim is to build a diverse and socially inclusive environment that is responsive and appropriate to all.
