Belmont School

Primary and secondary education is provided at the specialist Cloughfold and Belmont sites, which provide an excellent education experience for boys with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. The school provides a full curriculum and additional vocational learning. The success of the school is based on a consistent and structured approach, high levels of supervision and excellent staff and pupil relationships. The school was judged to be good at the last inspection in September 2008.

Belmont strives to become a centre of excellence, which will further enable our pupils to improve their academic performance, social skills and raise their aspirations. Many of our pupils have had negative relationships with schools resulting in failure and frustration. Through our positive structure of rewards and incentives, underpinned by strong structure and boundaries, our pupils gain self-belief, display positive behaviours and have a strong sense of belonging to our school. By rebuilding their self-esteem and forging positive relationships, they replace failure with success.

At Belmont we aspire to provide a high quality learning environment. High quality schemes of work and learning programmes deliver an exciting and innovative curriculum meeting the needs of all students. This is underpinned by strong social and behavioural support, which builds self- esteem and gives pupils a platform to experience success through positive behaviour and rewards. The school has a strong ICT infrastructure, which aids learning and enriches curriculum delivery at all times.
